Sidewalk Chalk and Ice Pop Welcome (August 21, 5:00 p.m.): Students write messages to their new teachers, have ice pops, and find out who is in their class.

Outdoor Movie Night (September 22, 6:30 p.m.). Join us outdoors in the field to watch Sing, have some popcorn, and buy pizza from DC Slices or a dessert from the Captain Cookie and the Milkman food truck!

Wonderful Wednesdays (multiple dates): Special treats and surprises for school staff once a month on a Wednesday, from helping with car line to parfait bars.

WordMasters Challenge (multiple dates): A critical thinking competition open to all third, fourth and fifth graders that first encourages students to become familiar with a set of 75 interesting new vocabulary words.

Odyssey of the Mind: An international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college.

Spirit Nights (multiple dates): Show your Sammy spirit by attending spirit nights at restaurants and play areas around the area and raise money for the school!

Reflections Art Program: A national arts program that welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts.

After School Activities (fall and spring): A wide range of after school activities offered twice per year.

Donuts with Dads (February 20-22): A special time with dad held in the school cafeteria!

Munchkins with Moms (May 15-17): A special time to eat pastries with mom held in the school cafeteria!

Sammy Cares (multiple dates, first is November 28): Events held throughout the year to show how our Salamanders can help the community and environment in Loudoun County. Events this year include hat collection and decorating, care packages, valentine’s cards for Veterans, and placemats.

Monster Mash (October 27, 6:30 p.m.): A DJ and dancing, costume contest, cake walk, and Trunk or Treat in one!

International Night (November 17, 6:00 p.m.): Kids and their families celebrate their culture with food sampling, demonstration tables, passports, music, and more!

Talent Show (March 2, 6:00 p.m.): Where Salamanders showcase all of their amazing talents, from singing to gymnastics, guitar to beat-boxing.

Science Night (April 20, 6:30 p.m.): Students watch a variety of experiments then can show off their own science projects or observe their friends’ projects.

Spring Carnival (May 5, 11:00 a.m.): Join us for our very first spring carnival, with lots of blowups, games, and food trucks!
